AirForce Split Inverter Air Conditioning Units 12,000 BTU Cooling & Heating
They have been dry stored in my garage and whilst the packaging shows signs of age through being moved around a few times, it has only been opened to check that the contents are undamaged and to take the pictures. These units are of the dual function "inverter" type which means they are capable of providing 3.9kW heating as well as 3.5kW air conditioning but it's the air conditioning which gets all the use in our house. They also have a dehumidfier function as well and the the fan speed and the air direction can be controlled too. Nevertheless, one of the most important features is that there is a built in timer which can be set from the remote in 30 minute increments which is very useful for keeping the bills down. We usually set ours to run for an hour after we've got into bed which blows a gentle stream of cool air over us which is usually long enough for us to get to sleep when it's hot and sticky and it's lovely.
A for a shaded room, typically NE facing = approx room size 35 square metres. B for a bright sunny room typically south west facing = approx room size 21 square metres. The units are very easy to install if you have any degree of DIY skill and a few tools - see the pictures in the instructions however whilst the indoor unit hangs on a bracket you attach to the wall first after drilling the 90mm hole for the pipes, the outdoor unit which can be either floor or wall mounted, is very heavy and requires 2 people to handle (see photo of Page 2- Product Specifications). Both the power and control cables and the coolant pipes are connected with simple DIY push fit (and lever clip) connectors and the power for both units comes from a single 13A plugged cable which simply plugs into a wall socket within 2m of the indoor unit.
To that end however, I can tell you that my sister bought one last year for a "room in the roof" in her local church which got very hot and it worked perfectly. So there you have it.
