1967 Chevy Pass. Chevelle Camaro Nos Custom Air Conditioning Basic Unit 986907
Up for your consideration is an ORIGINAL 1967 Chevrolet Full Size Passenger, Camaro & Chevelle 6 Cyl. 283, 327, 396 NOS CUSTOM AIR CONDITIONING BASIC UNIT (EVAPORATOR, CONDENSER & UNDER DASH UNIT ONLY).
The part # on the box is 986907. My accessory booklet states that it will fit the following models: Chevrolet 6 cylinder - 250 engine - except 16700; Chevrolet V8 283 & 327 engine except 16800 & R.
K-19; Chevrolet V-8 396 engine except with R. K-19; Chevelle 6 cylinder 230 engine; Chevelle V-8 283 & 327 engine except with R. K-19; Camaro 6 cylinder 230 engine except with R. U-17 & Camaro V-8 327 & 350 engine except with R. I believe this is also correct for Chevelle V-8 396 with automatic transmission except with R.
The book lists the parts # 987907 but I believe that was a typo in the book and should be 986907. This part # 986907 was found in my "Custom Features Accessories Confidential Price Schedules for Salesmen". This was a small black & white folder that the salesmen used in the showroom to show the prices of the dealer installed accessories to the perspective buyers. This was a dealer installed unit when your car did not come equipped with factory air that you could order from Chevrolet that was installed at the dealership. It appears to be in excellent unused condition but has not been tested. It appears to be complete with all the basic components included eg. Evaporator, condenser, under dash unit etc.And also includes all the original rubber hoses. There is also a bag of hardware with a part # on it included with all small parts. This bag has the control knobs, clamps, bolts, clips, switch etc.
The unit does NOT include the adapter for evaporator & condenser, compressor or compressor mounting kit and fan blade. Please note: The condenser which was packed at the bottom of the box does have a small area where the grill "fins" are bent and crunched a bit in that area from the weight of the other parts being placed on top even though there is a thick piece of cardboard protecting it. I'm sure they can be straightened out with a little work. I have added a photo of the condenser showing the part that had the "fins" bent.
I can't add any more photos to the listing because there is a limit of 12 photos. I can't guarantee that there wouldn't be some small screws, bolts, washers etc. Missing although they could all be here. It does not include any instructions. I assume they are missing from the box.I did not inventory the unit piece by piece. I've had this for many years sitting in the garage on a shelf. I did not mess with it nor did I remove anything from the box over the years. The unit was made by Harrison Radiator which is nearby in Lockport N. And is dated 1966 as seen in the 5th photo.
It is in the old Chevrolet box from the 1960's that has some tears and wear from years of storage. This is a very hard to find unit. It's the first one I've ever had for this year. This may also work on other years but I can't guarantee it.I don't see any reason why it would not be operational. What you see in the ph oto is wha t you will receive, no more, no less. Please do your research to de ter mine if it would be correct for your vehicle.
It will also be declared at full value which is also extra cost. This will be more going to the west coast because of the box size. ALL ORDERS ARE PROFESSIONALLY PACKED TO AVOID DAMAGE DURING TRANSIT.
